Antoine, un riche ingénieur, est envoyé à Tanger pour superviser la construction d'un grand centre audiovisuel. En fait, cette mission a un tout autre but, qu'Antoine est seul à connaître : il veut reconquérir Cécile (Catherine Deneuve), le premier et unique amour de sa vie. Seulement voilà, au Maroc, Cécile a refait sa vie. Elle est mariée avec Nathan (Gilbert Melki), un médecin juif marocain.
