In a small village of Burkina Faso, Kouka's father just died. Following the tradition, he witnesses with his mother the sharing of his father's belongings between his uncles. Then he his seperated from his mother to go live with one of his uncles, who lives in town. Mistreated, he runs away and his mother goes looking for him.
