After spending her whole life serving a famous nomad family, Aïcha Messaoud settles in a small Moroccan town…The film director follows her heroine's footsteps. She was born a slave and remained a slave her whole life. However, Aïcha's reputation, the illiterate scholar, the desert poet, is nonetheless known throughout the thousands of dunes that are in Western Sahara. The very old woman that greets the film director Dalila Ennadre in the small town of Tata, still has a mischievous mind and a strong memory. "This trip to the desert, a poetic, musical and ritual journey, borrows its slow tempo from nature and reveals, step by step, the wealth of an enduring and ancestral culture".
