Ramata-Toulaye SY (Ramata-Toulaye Sy) is a screenwriter and film director.

She is known for "Banel & Adama" (2023, Screenwriter, Director), "Astel" (2021), "Notre-Dame du Nil / Our Lady of the Nile" (cowritten by Atiq Rahimi, the film director, 2019), "Sibel" (co-directed by Çagla Zencirci & Guillaume Giovanetti, 2018) and "Tu garderas la nuit" (short drama by Jérémie Sein, 2014).

Born on 14 June 1986 in Bezons (France), from Senegalese parents, she is graduated from LA FEMIS (Paris, 2015 Screenwriting Promotion).
Ramata-Toulaye Sy received a Recognition (for her script Dans la cour des grands, feature project) at 2013 Sopadin Award for best screenwriters, in France.

At 2021 TIFF (Toronto), she won the IMDbPro Short Cuts Award, for her short "Astel". The Jury stated: "Ramata-Toulaye Sy's ASTEL moved us with its powerful storytelling, beautiful shots, and a captivating lead performance that explores the complex nuances of womanhood, patriarchy, and coming of age when you least expect it."

ASTEL was nominated at 2023 Best Short César (France).
Her first feature BANEL & ADAMA (2023) World Premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival (2023 Golden Palm and Golden Camera nominee).
