The women of the Shiite community in South Lebanon have strange dreams: "It's terrible to lose your husband", says Zeinab, age 32, wife of a Hizbollah militiaman, "but that is what we are expecting, even hoping for." Years of conflict, hatred and poverty in a South Lebanon occupied by a reviled army have spurred the'Islamization' of the family by'God's party'. The intent of the film is to comprehend the role of women in this indoctrination process. Zeinab and Khadije, representing two different generations, convey their convictions. Although both are extremely lucid in deploring the discrimination that women are subjected to ? whereas these practices have nothing to do with religion ? both deem they must wait to see their status improve: fighting the enemy is the priority. For the time being, they do their utmost to train their children as best they can to one day attain the supreme distinction of being mothers of martyrs.
