Obed Nkunzimana teaches French and Francophone (French Africa, France) literatures. His main area of interest and research is Francophone African (and Caribbean) literature viewed from the perspective of postcolonial and postmodern theories. He published articles on the Francophone African novel and worked , in his MA thesis, on Chinua Achebe and Hugh MacLennan. His PhD dissertation is a comparative study of the Quebec and Subsaharan African novel in French. The notions of orality, minority, marginality, and the connections of cinema and publishing with literary texts are part of his interests as well. He is working now on Literary Strategies and Cultural Resistance in Contemporary Francophone Literature.
